2017 Quad Cities Farm
January 15 thru 17 at
QCCA Expo Center
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — When the 26th edition of the Quad Cities Farm Equipment Show moves into the QCCA Expo Center for its annual three-day run, Jan, 15-17, it will give area farmers the opportunity to see everything that’s needed for their farm for the next planting and harvesting.
The show will feature more than 200 companies showing everything that’s new: long line, short line, seeds, supplies, chemicals, livestock equipment, grain handling, storage, buildings, replacement parts and all the new technologies so vital for profits from computer software to GPS systems. There also will be seed tenders and an outstanding selection of outdoor power equipment.
This year’s show will give area farmers a chance to see quite a few companies that will be exhibiting in the Quad Cities for the first time, some showing new equipment designed to make planting and harvesting faster and more cost efficient.
“When the farm economy is very good, and prices are high, you see more machinery, and they take up the bulk of the space. When prices are low and money is tight, then you see the smaller companies rush to be in the show, as they believe they have the products that will give the farmer the best possible return on his investment,” said Richard Sherman, show manager.
“How do I get more and pay less? That becomes the question, and so many of these smaller more nimble companies feel that they have the answer and very often it is high tech or new money-saving attachments that can go on the current equipment to make them more efficient.
“Of course, the heart of a show is still the equipment, and with the large move-in doors we have at the QCCA, we have the room and the ability to bring in the big equipment. I think farmers know that no matter how tight money is, a day spent at the farm show is always a good investment.”
Show admission and parking are all free, and the show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 15, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 16 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 17.
The QCCA Expo Center is at 2621 Fourth Ave. in Rock Island. It is easiest to take Fifth Avenue and then turn left at 26th Street on to Fourth Avenue at the Expo Center parking lot.
